Let’s Talk Nighttime Entertainment

I miss nighttime entertainment so much it hurts. Even I even see one firework in the sky I might just break down and sob. Because I am so overly emotional about nighttime shows I have done a lot of thinking on what route Disney is taking on brining it back.

If Disney is smart they would bring Fantasmic back first and implement a FastPass/boarding group type of system in place to control capacity. This outdoor theatre is large enough for social distancing and the big key word here is outdoor. They could open up the food stands again because if everyone is 6 feet away from each other you can peacefully enjoy a Disney Bot dog while waiting for the show to start. They would probably have to put on two shows a night to ensure that a good amount of guests can experience the nighttime spectacular.

The next best place I think would be at Epcot due to all the open space around World Showcase. I do think though that it could get messy without doing anything to control the capacity and social distancing but Epcot has the space to do so. I just really miss nighttime shows at Epcot (illuminations will always have my heart) because I feel like that lake is just the perfect place to watch a firework show but I am not sure how they would safety do this. Now there has been a lot of firework testing over at Epcot and we know this because guest staying at neighboring hotels can see the fireworks at night from their rooms. The testing can mean two things, one that fireworks are coming back or they are just testing the fireworks to perfect the show. I hope it’s number one.

I think Magic Kingdom would be the last park to get nighttime entertainment because the focal point is the castle and we all know the type of crowd that forms infront of the castle for any entertainment. Honestly Magic Kingdom might not get fireworks back until they can open to full capacity because no matter what a crowd will form for Happily Ever After and we all know social distancing will go out the window for that show.

I just know if I don’t see a fireworks show in the next 6 months I might explode with sobs because I miss the magic of fireworks at Walt Disney World. I hope they make an appearance soon.
